Mornings are not everyone’s favorite, especially if you have to stick to a list. But once you see this morning routine for success, you might change your mind.
Routines, just like to-do lists do wonders in my day-to-day life.
They give me a sense of control and after, an accomplished feeling.
A good morning routine sets up a good day.
When you have a routine that is guaranteed to work, your days will become less stressful and you won’t find yourself dreading waking up early.
You will have a list of things to do every morning and they will push you to become a better you. The list will soon turn into a habit and you won’t have to think twice about doing it.
I hope you find this routine just as useful as I do!
This post is all about the best morning routine for success!
Morning Routine For Success
*Disclaimer: This is NOT professional advice, just things that have helped me!*
1) Wake Up Early (With A Positive Mindset)
Choose an early morning time that works for you to start your day. Somewhere between 5 am -7 am will be the perfect wake-up time.
And when you wake up, think of something you are grateful for, or something you’re looking forward to on that day. This will help you start your day on a positive note.
Another thing to keep in mind is if you have to be at work (meaning working not from home) then choose your time based on that.
For example, if you have to leave the house at 8 am every day, 7 am is probably the absolute latest you should be aiming to wake up.
You have to give yourself time in the morning to accomplish your entire routine without rushing.
2) Make The Bed
Making the bed in the morning is the first thing you will do for the day. (other than waking up of course)
This task only takes about 2 minutes and will help you feel accomplished early on in the day. Once you stick this into your routine, you will do it without giving it another thought.
3) Wash Your Face
This is something you most likely already do, but it is part of a good morning routine.
Splash your face with some cold water which will help you wake up and feel ready for the day. It is an important step that shouldn’t be forgotten.
4) Drink Water/ Vitamins (Before Coffee)
Having a big glass of water in the morning (before having your cup of coffee) is extremely important.
Think of it as waking up your stomach. You wouldn’t want to wake up with a cup of coffee in your face right? The same thing for your gut, drinking a glass of water gets it ready for the day.
And of course, any vitamins you take now would be a great time for that.
5) Work Out
You don’t have to do an extreme workout, (unless it’s already in your routine) but doing some stretches and cardio is good for your health.
This is the way you wake your body up and get it ready for the day. Even if it’s 10-15 min, it’s helping, and it’s working.
6) Shower/Brush Teeth
After a quick workout, hop in the shower for a refresh. If you are able to take a slightly colder shower, that’s a bonus! A cold shower has its benefits and feels amazing after working out! When you are out of the shower don’t forget to brush your teeth.
7) Devotional/ Reading Time/Prayer
I usually do this around my coffee time. You can choose to do it right before, during, or right after.
It goes along with the quiet time and gets your soul ready for the day.
I think of devotional time as Coffee For The Soul.
Just like your body needs to prepare, so does your soul. It will help you through a stressful day and help you keep your peace.
8) Have Your Morning Coffee/ Tea + Quiet Time
Now is the time to finally have that cup of coffee you’ve been thinking about! (or tea!)
Pour yourself a cup and have a seat. Look out the window and reflect on how your day is going to look.
Doing this will help you focus on what needs to be done and get your mind ready for your daily tasks.
9) Eat A Good Breakfast
Being a busy mom or just busy in general, it can be easy to forget about yourself and not have your breakfast.
But you have to make sure you have a little bit of time to put something into your system.
Eating a good breakfast will give you the energy you need for your busy day.
10) Get Dressed And Ready (Even If Your Working From Home Or A SAHM)
If you are leaving for work, it’s obvious you will get dressed accordingly. But this step is important even if you are not leaving your home.
Ditch the PJs and get dressed!
Getting ready for the day will help you feel productive and motivated to complete everything on your to-do list.
11) Create A To-Do List For Your Day
This is the last and final step in this morning routine for success. Create a to-do list to help you navigate throughout your day. It will be a lot of help and you will notice a difference in how your day is going.
