It can get tough time managing, sticking to a schedule, AND trying to get everything done at the time you want and NEED to! We’re here to help manage your morning and make your busy life a little easier!
1 MAKE A SCHEDULE FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE
Having a schedule of how your morning needs to go will help you visualize how much time you need. You don’t need to write out your morning minute by minute, but having a simple to-do list will help you stick to your schedule. Schedule your to-do list from most important to least important. (This will teach you to prioritize) You can use an online scheduling system or a notebook. Whichever one keeps you motivated more.
2 TACKLE ONE THING AT A TIME
Looking at your to-do list might get overwhelming so focus on one thing at a time! This will help you stay calm while you tackle your morning tasks. Choose the most important two items first. This will make sure your top priorities are getting completed no matter what.
3 MAKE YOUR LIST REASONABLE
Don’t try to fit a whole day’s worth of things into an hour of your morning! By doing so, you’re setting unrealistic expectations. You’re letting yourself believe that it’s not possible to get anything done before leaving the house for the day. (not true!)
For example; when scheduling out your morning, don’t make your list longer than 5 things to do. (have breakfast, send out mail, throw in the laundry) This example list is short, but already two important things are getting done before heading out for the day. Don’t schedule out; clean the entire kitchen, wash the floors, etc.
Keep in mind that you are only scheduling out your morning, not your entire day. If you work a 9-5 job then having just a couple of things to do in the mornings will help you stay on top of your home chores and errands.
4 MAKE AT LEAST 10 MIN FOR YOURSELF
You have to make an effort to make time for yourself! 10 minutes of quiet time with a cup of coffee will let you collect your thoughts and get ready for your day!
If you have to be out of the house at 8:30, try to wake up around an hour before that. The first 10-15 minutes of your morning need to be all about you. This will help your mind have a relaxing start to the day.
5 DEVOTIONAL TIME
Now, this step sort of falls into step #4 but its’ focus is to have a few minutes with the Lord. This is one of the most important steps! Starting your morning with the Lord will help you tackle everything you thought of doing! And if not, you won’t feel overwhelmed! Use a yearly devotional to help you stay on track with where you are and to keep you motivated.
