Ever since my husband and I started thinking about making the big move, there was a lot of unknown territory for me.

I didn’t know where to start and what to do first. But after a few months, I had a list of must-dos in my head that helped me throughout the entire process.

I made a list for you so you don’t have to!

This post is all about the most important moving tips!

1) Start Decluttering Months In Advance

The moment you start house hunting or thinking about moving, start decluttering your house.

You will get rid of items you have no use for and this will save you a tremendous amount of time and stress when it gets closer to moving out day.

2) Pack Items You Don’t Use Often Early

If it is summertime and you are planning on moving, pack up your winter clothes. This way it’s packed and you know you won’t have a use for them until you have moved.

3) Don’t Buy New House Items (less to move the better)

As tempting as it is, don’t buy the pretty lamp at Target that you’ve seen the other day. You can focus on buying new decor and house items once you are settled into your new home. Remember the less you pack, the less you UNpack!

4) Label Everything

This simple tip is a must. Make sure all of your containers and boxes are labeled. Labeling boxes will help you and those that are helping you unpack in a big way!

5) Pack In Categories

If at all possible, try to pack everything together as they go. (for example; don’t mix in your dinner plates with your t-shirts.) It’ll make the unpacking and settling-in process run so much smoother!

This post was all about the most important moving tips!

I hope these moving tips were able to shine some light on the things that needed to be done when moving!
