How To Avoid Junk Drawers Using These 3 Simple Steps

The day has finally come when you decided you are done with junk drawers. Well, where exactly do you go from there?

how to avoid a junk drawer

I think 90% of people have a junk drawer in their homes. It might not always start out as one but from the time it sure does become one.

You open that first drawer with whatever is in it and you toss some spare change. Then later you toss in some extra batteries. And before you know it, you have a drawer with the most random things in it from mail to coins to scissors.

So how do get rid of that, or better yet, how do you avoid a junk drawer overall?

I got you covered with these simple steps!

This post is all about how to avoid junk drawers!

1) Create A Designated Spot For Everything

First and foremost, creating a specific spot for all the ‘random’ things will prevent you from having a junk drawer.

For example; a place where you hang your keys, where you set your mail, a spot for scissors, rubber bands, coins, etc.

This way everything will go where they belong instead of in a random drawer in your kitchen or bathroom.

2) Use Dividers

Of course, you can still have a drawer that carries a few different random things but use dividers to prevent them from all mixing in together thus creating a junk drawer.

So you can have scissors, rubber bands, and coins in one drawer, just divide them accordingly and you won’t have to be searching for your items longer than you need.

3) Train Yourself To Put Things In The Correct Spot

And last but not least, the first two points will be pointless unless you train yourself to be the items away in their correct spot.

Putting things away doesn’t take long and isn’t difficult! So follow these 3 simple steps and you will avoid a junk drawer for sure!

This post was all about how to avoid junk drawers!

I hope these steps were helpful to you and will help you achieve just what you were looking for!
