With spring just around the corner, you might find yourself wondering how to spring clean your home. Well, I put together the best how-to for you! (with a few checklists included!)

If you don’t know what spring cleaning is, let me explain! Spring cleaning is just how it sounds. Cleaning during springtime, But it is slightly more than that.

After a long cold winter spent mostly inside, it is time to give your home a refresh—a full one deep cleaning session.

Spring cleaning is when you focus on one room at a time just to make sure you hit every corner and every drawer.

It is a long process that might leave you feeling overwhelmed in the beginning when you don’t know where to start.

If you follow along with these tips and checklists, you won’t feel overwhelmed at the long cleaning process will be worth it in the end!

1) Deep Clean Your Kitchen

How To Spring Clean Your Kitchen

You can choose any room in your home to start with, but ill be starting with the kitchen. Deep cleaning a kitchen can feel slightly stressful since there are so many spots to clean. Follow along with the checklist below to help you stay on track and stress-free.

You might get scared looking at this giant checklist but remember to just take it one section at a time! If you have more or fewer cabinets than provided in the checklist, add them or cross them out as you wish!

2) Deep Clean Living Room

Everyone has a different living room with different cabinets, just like in the checklist above; add or cross out as needed for you!

Save Print

  • Wipe Down/ Vacuum Couch (any sitting area)
  • Clean Out All Cabinets
  • Organize Books
  • Take Out Unnecessary Items
  • Dust All Surfaces
  • Wash Windows
  • Wash Walls
  • Sweep /Vacuum Floors
  • Wash Floors 

Again, make sure to focus on one item at a time as not to get stressed and overwhelmed!

3) Deep Clean All Bathrooms

If you have multiple bathrooms, they might not all have bathtubs, so make the checklist fit your cleaning needs.

  • Wash Or Replace Shower Curtain
  • Clean Bathtub
  • Wash All Soap Bottles / Throw Out Empty Ones

  • Wipe Down Countertop
  • Wipe Down Mirror

  • Wash Window

You might have more than one bathroom; reuse this checklist as you clean every one of them!

4) Deep Clean All Bedrooms

How To Spring Clean Your Room

Most households have more than one bedroom. Use this checklist as you go through each one and modify it as needed!

  • Wash All Beddings
  • Wipe Down Bedframe
  • Clean Out All Cabinets / Drawers
  • Organize Walk In Closet
  • Dust All Surfaces
  • Wash Windows
  • Wash Curtains
  • Wipe Down Walls
  • Sweep / Vacuum
  • Wash Floor 

Since many families have a playroom specifically for toys, I’m providing a checklist just for that!

  • Divide The Toys By Categories (Legos, Dolls, Cars, etc.)
  • Donate Toys No Longer Needed
  • Wipe Down All Surfaces
  • Put Toys Back By Categories
  • Wash Windows
  • Wash Walls
  • Sweep/Vacuum
  • Wash Floors 

Every room might look different, but overall the basic items are the same (bed, dresser, window). Take it one room at a time, and you will be done before you know it!

I figured the easiest way to show you how to spring clean your home would be to use checklists for every room.

This way, you can see exactly what needs to be done.

I would recommend taking about a week for your entire home (maybe more depending on the size of your home and your schedule)

Take one room a day and focus on just that.

Don’t try to look ahead and see how much more you have to do; instead, look back and see how far you have come!
