How To Host A Dinner Party In A Small Space
1) Create A To-Do List
First and foremost, get all your thoughts on paper. Even if it is a very simple dinner party. This will help you see everything right in front of you and you can go from there.
2) Find Out How Many People Are Making It
Before going on to the next steps, make sure to find out exactly how many people are making it so you can plan accordingly.
3) Create A Menu & Decide If Ordering Food Or Making It
This is another list you need to create. Make a list of all the foods and sweets you are planning on serving. This way if you decide to order, you know where to start, and if you decide to make most of the foods yourself, you will know what ingredients to buy.
4) Decide Whether You Are Decorating Or Keeping Simple
You have to decide if you want to put out things like centerpieces or nothing at all. If you decide to decorate see if there is anything that needs to be added to your shopping list.
5) Decide If Using Disposable Dinnerware Or Not
Decide whether or not you will be using disposable plates. If yes it might be another item to add to your shopping list along with disposable silverware and cups.
6) Make A Shopping List
After you know how many people are coming, what you are using for decor and dinnerware, and any drinks and food items make a shopping list. This will make your shopping trip easier and make sure you don’t forget anything.
5) Find Out Which Foods Can Be Done In Advance (If making it yourself)
If you are making anything yourself see what food items you can prep beforehand to make it easier.
7) Set Up Table & Decor And Move Any Furniture Out Of The Way
Set up the table (or tables) with chairs and decor items. If you have a smaller space, then moving furniture that isn’t going to be used is important to save space! Both of these can even be done a few days ahead of time!
8) Finish Up Last Minute Food Prep & Everything Else
Make sure you know when to pick up any food if ordered and anything else you might’ve forgotten or left until the last minute. (drinks & sweets).
