Follow along on getting back on track after the holidays.
With the holidays over and the new year here, it can either be easy to feel motivated, or you could be stuck in a slump from the holidays and not know where to begin.
I had to sit down and evaluate myself to figure out how to get out of the slump.
The tips listed below have helped me, and I wanted to share them with you!
This post is all about the best tips for getting back on track after the holidays!
Getting Back On Track After The Holidays
1) Ease Into Your Schedule
During the holidays most people have at least a week off or the kids are home so either way there isn’t much of a schedule to follow. You end up doing things at a slower pace and on your own time.
When the holidays are over you might find yourself either eager to hop back into your schedule or the opposite.
If you are finding it a bit more difficult, allow yourself a week of getting back on schedule, and you will start feeling like yourself!
2) Write Out What You Want To Complete
I’ve read somewhere that if you write out the things you want to complete there is a more significant percentage of you actually completing the task.
Create a to-do list of things you want to do after the holidays and parties are over. It will be easier for you to get things done!
3) Spend Time Outside
Spending time outside might sound like a tip that hasn’t really been thought about but I assure you it is very important. During the holidays you are spending much much more time inside than out. You are either shopping, decorating the house, or prepping food. On top of that you might be feeling extra cozy so staying inside probably seems like an ideal thing to do.
But after a week or two of staying inside, you will start to feel a little sluggish and a headache might creep on. Force yourself to step outside for at least 15 min a day and just breathe. Believe it or not, it helps! (I say this while working outside on this blog right now!)
4) Don’t Be Too Hard On Yourself
And last but not least, don’t be too hard on yourself. The holidays while merry and bright can be a bit hard on some.
The stress of everything can get to you, so you definitely need time to refocus and get back on that schedule! Give yourself grace and take it one day at a time!
