1) Opening Your Windows
Opening up your windows during the cleaning-up time has multiple benefits. First off you air off the air letting fresh air come inside. That alone will make your house smell more fresh and clean. Another advantage is it airs out the cleaner smell.
For example, if you use a stronger cleaner it might feel too much in the home but with the windows open it will help get some of that out.
2) Making A To-Do List
Making a to-do list will help you stay on track, especially if you are trying to clean the entire home in one day.
3) Cleaning One Room At A Time
If you try to start by taking the trash out of all the rooms instead of focusing on cleaning one room out completely it might confuse you and you won’t have a stopping point if you need a break.
For example, if you take out all the trash from all the rooms and toys and then decide to take a break, not one space will look clean enough and it’ll seem like you didn’t clean anything.
4) Turning On A Podcast
Turning on something that will intrigue you and make you listen will help speed up the cleaning process believe it or not. So the podcast is worth listening to and by the time you are done with one episode, you will realize that a few items on your to-do list are already checked off.
5) Taking Your Time
When you start to rush or. putting a certain time limit to your cleaning session you will start to stress out and be hard on yourself when that isn’t achieved. (of course, there are times when you need to finish by a certain time but not always)
Have the mindset that I’ll be done when I’m done and watch yourself stop stressing and maybe even having a good time tidying up your home.
