How To Better Your Relationship With God (As A Wife)

Life tends to get pretty busy nowadays. Between family, jobs, and house chores, we don’t leave much time for our relationship with God. If you have ever wondered how to better your relationship with God, you’re not alone.

For many of us, it’s something that gets put on the back burner. Something that will be dealt with later.

But if you are trying to build your life around faith and around Jesus, that’s not an option!

In order for your life to be centered around your faith, you have to make sure to better your relationship with God! It’s the only way!

If that is what you came searching for, then let’s keep reading!

This post is all about how to better your relationship with God!

How To Better Your Relationship With God

1) Start Putting Him First

No matter which relationship you have with anyone, if you want it to work out, that means putting the person first. This rule is no exception with it comes to your relationship with Jesus!

Putting God first doesn’t mean saying a 10-second prayer while your eyes are shutting shut for the night. It means making Him your priority and finding time specifically dedicated to God.

2) Have Mornings With Jesus

  • Bible Reading
  • Prayer

Morning time is a great time to dedicate to Jesus. If you have the ability to, try to wake up way before the rest of your family gets up.

Maybe after you send your husband to work but before your kiddos wake up for the day. Choose a time that is still quiet and you can solely focus on God.

If you haven’t done this in a while, purchasing a devotional will be an amazing start. (tho remember that a devotional book does not replace your Bible!)

A devotional can sometimes help you better understand what you’re reading in the Bible and is great for encouragement.

Having your mornings dedicated to Jesus will help you better prepare for the day and give you a chance to pray and reflect on your tasks coming your way!

3) Make Time In The Evenings

Even though I strongly encourage starting your mornings with prayer and reading, If morning time just doesn’t work out for you, set a time in the evening.

Or even if mornings are working out you can still dedicate your evenings to prayer and reading.

It is an amazing way to unwind and reflect after a long busy day.

4) Trust Him With Your Worries

Steps To Build A Relationship With God

What is a relationship without trust? Well, it’s not much of a relationship!

You have to let yourself trust God with all of your problems and worries.

This will be especially difficult if you are used to being in control. (I struggle with this daily!)

When things are going wrong or if you are in the waiting season, it won’t be easy to let go and let God, but that is the only way to build your trust with Him.

You have to remember that He won’t let you down and will be with you every step of the way.

5) Put In The Effort

A relationship won’t be able to grow or better if one doesn’t put in the effort. The same with your relationship with Jesus.

You have to give it your all and focus on bettering it every day. Consistency is key to everything.

Make sure to continue daily putting in the effort and time in your relationship with God.

6) Remember He Cares About The Details Of Your Day

You have to keep in mind that you don’t have to wait until a certain time of day to pray. You can talk to Jesus any time of day.

He cares what you are up to and would love to be there for you! It might be silly to think about, but even if you have a day of cleaning and you don’t know where to start, ask Jesus to help. You will be surprised how things will get done.

Jesus cares even when no one else will.

7) Keep In Mind That Its You and Him

When things in life don’t go as planned, it’s very easy to get upset and angry at God.

In those moments try to remember that it’s you and Him, not you against Him.

God only wants the best for you and sometimes that means things not going your way. You will simply have to trust Him.

This post was all about how to better your relationship with God!

If you are on this journey of trying to better your relationship with God, don’t give up!

All good things take time, you just have to be willing to give that time and effort!

These tips are what help me and that I find work amazingly! I hope they will work for you as well!

Remember, Jesus loves you and wants the best for you!
