This post is all about how to stay consistent in life!
How To Stay Consistent In Life
*This is NOT professional advice, just tips that have helped me!*
1) Trust The Process (for long term goals)
How To Stay Consistent With Goals
The reason why so many of us are not consistent with the goals and plans in our life is that we don’t see results right away.
For example, we decide to exercise weekly to feel more energized, but after a week we might not see any results so we stop.
Remember that to see results in anything we start, we can not give up when we don’t see any results.
Trust the process and believe in the process so you can then see results!
2) Think Of The Big Picture (for daily & long term goals)
When starting something new, (or continuing something previously started) you have to look at it long term. You have to realize that it will become beneficial to you in the long run.
If you are trying to be consistent with staying hydrated, for example, think of how your body will thank you months down the line.
Maybe today you won’t think it made a difference but tomorrow you’ll realize that it did!
3) Remember It Takes 21 Days To Form A Habit (for daily & long term goals)
Remembering that it takes 21 days to form a habit is crucial for small daily goals!!
For example, having morning devotionals. Stick to it for 21 days and after that, it will feel weird for you NOT to do it!
If being consistent with something is extremely difficult, tell yourself you only have to do it for 21 days.
This will make you believe that you don’t have to stay consistent all the time, but when 21 days roll around, whatever you have started, (maybe waking up early) will have become a habit and you won’t need to force yourself to be consistent with it!
After 21 days, It will just happen naturally!
4) Take It One Day At A Time (for daily & long term goals)
Even though you are supposed to look at whatever you’re wanting to be consistent with, long term, you have to take it day by day.
For example, you have to look at the picture and long-term benefits, but at the same time don’t let yourself think “ugh this will take forever!”
Take it one day at a time while working towards a big-picture goal!
5) Surround Yourself With A Support Group (for long term goals)
Surround yourself with friends and family that will support your goals.
Having people that care for you to succeed will be crucial for motivation.
On days that you want to give up your goal, they could be the ones that will help you see the reason why you should continue!
6) Reward Yourself With The Little Wins (for long term goals)
Maybe you have stayed consistent with something for a whole week, I would say that’s a win!
Reward yourself with something small that will motivate you to continue.
Take yourself out on a date that first week, and then two weeks after that!
Doing this will help you continue until you start seeing results!
7) How Bad Do you Want To Succeed?
How To Be Consistent And Disciplined
Even though having people support you is amazing and will help you, you have to ask yourself how bad you want to reach your goal.
If you have a family by your side cheering you on but you let yourself feel doubt, it will be very difficult to continue.
At the end of the day you have to decide how bad you actually want something and that will help you become consistent.
No matter if it is a daily goal like waking up early or a bigger goal like starting your own business, you have to want it bad enough to stick with it!
This post was all about how to be consistent in life!
Reading through these tips, you have to keep in mind that this all takes time, effort, and patience.
Like I mentioned earlier, this isn’t a fast overnight fix, and bam you are all of a sudden consistent in everything you do.
You have to set your mind to it (just like with anything else) and then you WILL start seeing results and you WILL become consistent in your daily goals as well as your big-picture goals!
Don’t give up, and it will pay off later!
