It’s normal to look around at your kitchen and get stressed out over all the pots, pans, dirty dishes, and trash everywhere.

I’m the same way until I remind myself that it’s not as difficult as it looks!

Even with your kitchen overflowing at its peak, there is a way to clean it and clean it fast!

Follow this guideline to help you!

You will soon realize that cleaning your kitchen after a party isn’t so bad after all!

This post is all about how to clean a kitchen fast!

Kitchen Cleaning Hacks

1) Start By Taking Dishes To The Sink

Start by taking all the dishes to the sink. This first step solely focuses on dishes. From the table, take all the dishes, glasses, and silverware. Next check the countertop and stovetop. Take all the pots, pans, and any other extra dishes to the sink. After all the dishes are in the sink, you are ready for the next step.

2) Clean Off The Table/ Kitchen Island

If you have a table in your kitchen or a kitchen island, now would be the time to clean it off completely. Since you have already gotten rid of the dishes, you have two more things to clean.

  • Left Over Food
  • Trash

Focus on putting all the leftover food into containers and placing them in the fridge or freezer. (this might leave you with more dishes, just put them in the sink!) When all of the leftover food is put away, toss all the trash into the garbage bin. Lastly, wipe down the table.

3) Clean Off The Countertops

When cleaning off the countertops, you will be repeating the same steps you did when cleaning the table. Focus on putting the leftovers inside containers and putting them away in the fridge or freezer. Then toss all the trash into the garbage bin. Lastly don’t forget to wipe the countertops down.

4) Pick Up Trash / Take Out Trash

Overall, most of the trash should already be in the garbage bin, but just in case, make sure you check the floor and any other surfaces for trash. After you are sure that there is no more trash to be picked up, empty out the trash bin. Take out the trash and don’t forget to add a clean bag to the garbage bin!

5) Sweep

(Don’t worry I didn’t forget about those dishes in the sink!) After all the surfaces are cleaned off and the trash is taken out, it is time to sweep. This is self-explanatory! Just sweep off the floors so the crumbs don’t stick to your feet when you are walking around the kitchen. (Also so no one else tracks the crumbs elsewhere!)

6) Wash Dishes

Now is finally time to wash the dishes. The reason for leaving dishes towards the end is that cleaning everything else is more than half of the work! So now you can wash the dishes in a cleaned-up kitchen! If you use a dishwasher then now would be the time to fill it up and turn it on!

7) Wipe Down Everything With All Purpose / Mop Floors

Wiping down everything with a cleaner is always the last step. There is no food out, no crumbs, and all the dishes are done. Take your favorite cleaning spray and use it to wipe down the countertops, sink, and table. This not only disinfects your kitchen but gives it a nice clean smell as well! Lastly, use your favorite floor cleaner to mop the floors and close down the kitchen for the night!
